What features make the Vanucci *VAB-7 Sympatex* boots stand out? Their almost perfect fit, the durable and full-grain cowhide leather, the SympaTex climate membrane, two side zips for easy pull-on and pull-off, and the anatomically shaped Ortholite X40 insole – these features and more make the Vanucci *VAB-7 Sympatex* a genuine touring motorbike boot. The Michelin touring soles, which were specially developed for the *VAB-7*, also provide the perfect grip. Meaning it also plays in the top touring class. Excellent!

Your breathable boots are wind and waterproof. However, the boots are only breathable if you have functional socks on your feet. While cotton socks retain moisture, functional socks transport sweat and moisture away from the foot and into the shoe. The breathable shoe membrane then works there and transports the moisture completely out of the shoe, ensuring breathability.

The membranes are manufactured from different base materials, depending on the brand, and are made either as a loose "liner", as a laminate (bonded to the outer material), or as a coating on a carrier material.
The SympaTex membrane is made of polyester, and transports water vapour molecules outwards by means of chemical reactions. Different materials are tailored to the various applications in the field of motorcycle clothing.
All climate membranes are sensitive to mechanical damage: if a membrane is pierced, clearly it can no longer provide protection. Damage can also result from the use of inappropriate washing agents. Softeners, including those contained in detergents, damage the membrane irreparably!
